Humanitarian Project - Thalassemia Check up camp

*🦚 PROJECT COMPLETION REPORT – HUMANITARIAN CAUSE* 🦚 *"A simple blood test today can prevent a lifetime of suffering tomorrow. Awareness and early screening are the strongest weapons against Thalassemia."* Dear Fellow Lions, Lions Club of Gandhidham successfully organized a Thalassemia Screening & Check-up Camp for the students of Tolani Commerce College on 14th & 15th July 2026 under our Humanitarian Cause initiative. The camp focused on promoting early detection of the Thalassemia Trait, an essential step towards preventing the birth of children affected by Thalassemia Major. By encouraging young adults to undergo screening before marriage, we are helping build a healthier, more informed, and Thalassemia-free future. During the camp, blood samples were collected from participating students for Thalassemia screening. The enthusiastic response from the students reflected their awareness, responsibility, and willingness to contribute towards this noble cause. The camp witnessed the participation of around 510 students, with a significant number voluntarily undergoing the screening process. A special appreciation goes to Project Chairperson Lion Arti Chatlani for her dedicated efforts, meticulous planning, and seamless execution of this impactful initiative. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Project Coordinator PMJF Lion Lalit Dhalwani, whose guidance, coordination, and unwavering commitment played a pivotal role in the successful organization of both the awareness and screening camps. We express our heartfelt thanks to the management and staff of Tolani Commerce College, the medical team for conducting the blood sample collection, all the participating students, our dedicated Lions and Leos members, and every volunteer whose wholehearted support made this project a grand success.
